lol you're right! We should be nice all the time. It makes me sad when there's a huge turn out for church on easter and christmas, and the rest of the time 75% of the ppl don't go the rest of the year. it's ridiculous. I'm glad it's not like that though...to a point. Holidays break the bank for me...just think if we were "giving" to everyone year round.

Oddly enough there is no teaching whatsoever on Christmas. There isn't any instruction or advice to even celebrate the birth of Christ. Not a bad thing to do however.
To your second point. Most Christians I know put no more significance on how they approach other people during Christmas as they do any other time of the year. You must be running into some pretty snobby ones.

Unfortunately, some people feel they need a reason to nice to their fellow man/woman and they use Christmas to do that. I try to be nice year round so it is less taxing during the Holiday season.

Of course we are expected to be cheerful all the time, but the problem is we tend to forget. It takes special occasions, like a birthday or anniversary, or some tragedy, like a terrorist attack, for us to remember how wonderful life is.
It's kind of like chocolate cake. If you had it every day it wouldn't be as special, now would it? But if you forgot to have some one day, then none for a week, wouldn't it taste even more delicious when you have it again? :)

Christmas is not in the bible to my knowledge. I do agree with you in that good cheer is needed all year round.

Yes honey, i know what you mean!. We live in pretty tough times. People are angry and hurt with the people most important in their lives. Everyone is running after material things trying to band aid up their own emotional pain.
The enemy is doing all he can to torment people emotionally so that their hearts are hard against God and his word.
It's not till you open your heart and walk toward God that you realise Christmas is every single day!
Glory be to God in the highest!

It says all year around, but no one remembers to do it unless there is something there reminding them..hence Christ's birthday.
