Last year around this time my mom went kinda out of her mind. She started to loose all her memory and couldn't remember it. She had to go to the hospital and they said she had a low blood count and something else dealing with drinking. My sister suggested that she might also be bi-polar. At first I was like no she isnt but then Im really starting to think she is. Like for example one day she'll be normal and stuff and the next day she'll be all loud and mean. She has a bad thing where she loves to spend money and will ask you for it everyday. Does anybody know any other symptoms of Being Bi-polar if so PLEASE Give me some information or some websites I can go to or if any body has ever delt with this I need help ASAP

She isn't bi-polar, you mentioned her drinking, there is your whole problem.

Bi-Polar is mostly hereditary, so check back up her family tree first. It is not a certain diagnosis if there is no history to indicate Bi-Polar, but it can sure rule it in.
When my ex was diagnosed, the therapist asked about his family history. His brother went crazy every year on a regular schedule, (seasonally cyclic) his other brother underwent regular counseling for ADHD, (mis-diagnosed?). One of his sisters has OCD behaviors, and his grandfather had to take control of his father's property for a few years, because of mental illness, (we found that in the abstract of the family farm).
If the textbook manic episode he was having was not enough to prove it, the genealogy was perfect. Trouble is getting the information.
If she is Bi-Polar, do not hope they can just give her a pill or two and make her better. She most likely will not stop drinking., which will over ride the pills if she will even take them.
If you can, get out of the environment. If you are under 18 and cant get out talk to your school councilor. Clearly you feel at least mildly threatened in this situation, and I can understand that. No mater what remember that while this is your mom, it shouldn't be your problem. You cant make her get better, and staying around the craziness will hurt you in the end.

Here is a really good site on Bipolar. These will help you understand symptoms. Some people who drink alcohol self medicate and have a dual diagnosis.

I am Bipolar and have a good job with med's and therapy.

Often times, people with mental health problems like bipolar will self-medicate. So, if she is drinking heavily, that could be her way of dealing with it.

She needs to be evaluated. Try to convince her that she will feel better if she is evaluated. You need to see someone in a mental health center.

no shes not bipolar, bipolar is when you can be happy as anybody and the next second she is about to kill somebody of anger. you didn't mention anything of her getting mad so she isn't bipolar to my knowledge.
