When you find real truth and it stands the test of logic and time, it releases you from the burdens of false hope and disillusionment.

I would think it is the freedom you obtain when you reach the truth, or in other words freedom from ignorance. Also you would become free from everyone around you, because no one actually wants to hear the truth about themselves!

freedom from the suffering of ignorance and illusion - it's the Martrix trip! (this isn't an idea that's 'owned' by christianity though the cultists would have you believe otherwise)
=)
o - and if you believe in spirituality rather than religion there does seem to be some greater Truth we can experience that truly ;) 'delivers' you from suffering - they call them 'peak experiences' in humanistic psychology and are kinda life-changingly cool and are ALWAYS about becoming who you really are...just don't think you're likely to find them amongst all the new hats and pressed suits at church this sunday.
=)

Or is it "truth that freedom leads to"? The truth that we are free from sin/the wadges of sin through faith in Jesus Christ.

I never took this as a religious phrase. If I've been lying about something...I feel guilty eventually. Telling the truth frees me from guilt. If someone has been lying to me or lying to themselves...telling them about themselves makes me feel better. lol I guess I free from the burden of dealing with them and their confusion.

...and freedom the subsequent consequence of sin, death (i.e., separated from Christ as you spend eternity in hell .)
