somebody on here said something about speaking the truth to the people we think are wrong, but then knowing when to back off too. About not letting them wear you down, or something about wearing down your spirit. Like, we can love them, but once we tell them our truth, back off and let God do the rest.

There are relatively small ones all the time, but the last really big, AHA type epiphany was in college at a retreat, when we had an all-night vigil over a consecrated Eucharistic host. It was a some point in that vigil that I realized for the first time in my life that this piece of white flour was really Jesus' actual body. That it wasn't make-believe. It wasn't a symbol. It was HIS actual flesh under the appearance of bread. I still feel overawed when I remember that.

When I came down with an incurable illness that doesn't actually show,,although I feel sick, most of the time..I was standing in line at the grocery store,,,feeling sorry for myself,,,,and I looked around me,,and realized, that any one behind me, could be going through the same type of thing, and I wouldn't know either....It made me a lot more compassionate when someone is rude or loses their cool with their children,,,you never know what could be going on in someones life...It was actually a spiritual awakening in a way, for me......we need to try a little kindness...

Two years ago, or maybe that was three.
But I warn you now, you won't like this.
God HATES Christmas!
There, I said it and I feel better too.
It's true, but don't take my word for it. Go look at it closely for your self and then ask God; "Do you like the tree? Do you like the images of that baby and his family who are supposed to be Jesus and his parents? Do you like the reindeer that are flying over their heads and the funny little clown who people teach their children knows everything they do, kinda like you?
Or would you rather we tare this giant icon down and just give thanks to you that the darkest days are over and the sun is returning?
Would you like us to pay this much attention and more to the things you have told us?
OK then Father, if it's your will."
OH my GOD! this lunatic can't possibly be serious.
It is blasphemous! How dare this scoundrel suggest such an appalling idea!
Get off the net you weirdo freak!!!
Any way, I don't like Christmas anymore. I was changed two years ago while I was playing Santa for a group of Mayan kids in Guatemala. they came to me with their eyes sparkling and saying "Te amo Santa" (I love you Santa) My heart was broken and I knew I was betraying my Lord.
I see Christmas for what it really is now.
Just want to take down the high places. Don't mean anyone no harm.

In RCIA classes a few years ago. All of the puzzle pieces went "click", one right after another. I knew I was "home" long before the Easter Vigil that made it official.

I had the thought that maybe God does not approve of religion because it tends to make Him look bad.
On a more serious note, I came to the realization that we must be here for a reason and I don't think that reason is to serve God because, why would He/She/It need to be served? He is God Almighty and He is without wants and needs, unlike the humans He supposedly created.

jon look in yourself, truly, and you will find an experience that requires no validation or cross referencing. you have the same opportunity as the as the rest of sentience. my revelation may help you -- but it would only help you to find you own. you are your "aha" but not with all the duplicity about your history.

A minor thing came up in our morning devotions today, but it was interesting.
You know how contagious yawns are?!?
In the same way that we yawn, because the other guy yawned, we are apt to pick up behaviours of our buddies.
This is why God emphasized choosing friends wisely. If they will not rise to our level, we may fall to their's!

It was about the difference between people who are evil and people who are just saying/doing evil things because they're hurting.
It was a question on here about praying for people who habitually badmouth catholics and anybody else they don't agree with.
Some might actually be evil, but now I think most of them are just hurting because their denominations leave them desiring so much spiritually.

The day I discovered Jesus taught a faith not even connected to the Jews. As I am a writer and will be publishing my "findings" that is as much as I can "say."
