Yes. The person who signed the check is responsible for the loan. Depending on the state you live in, there is often not much that can be done to you if you default on the loan. I know from personal experience.

I'm not sure what you're asking in your question. This is what I think you mean...

--Your boyfriend took out a payday loan. You wrote a check from your shared checking account to pay the fees on the loan. --

If this is the case and the payday loan is in your boyfriend's name, it's his loan and his responsibility.

I advise you to open a checking account in your name only and start depositing your money there to protect it. Payday loans can get out of hand quickly. You don't want money you earned and deposited in the shared account to be eaten up by the fees charged on a loan that's not yours.

i suggest you to not take a loan assuming that you actually do not have to. It is just bad financial decision which you might regret in future, however in case you actually need to, find on Google zerbite loans finder. It helped me. good luck

If you have a joint checking account, the money will come from there, does not matter who made the loan, joint account, both responsible
