I have the same problem. My mom's dad is a complete drunk. Remember, it is NOT your fault no matter what comes out of his mouth. Just ignore him, and get on with your life as much as you can.
Get involved in as many activities you can so you are away from home. He won't stop drinking until he wants to quit drinking. So yelling, screaming, calling him a drunk is totally pointless.
But if you see him be sure to be polite and try to smile. Yes, it does totally suck that he's a drunk, but try not to say things you'll regret or have to go back and apologize for.
It's not your fault. Only he can decided when enough is enough. No matter what your age just get on with you life and leave him behind.

I'm sorry you're going through this s.h.i.t. As a teenager, all my siblings were already out of the house -and married-, and I took care of two alcoholics: my mom and my dad. It wasn't the best of times, but I lived through it. I had to sometimes put them to bed, put their pajamas on, clean their vomit, give them a shower when I thought they needed it, feed them, give them their medicine (for headaches), play referee whenever they had their drunken fights, fight off their "friendly" drunk friends, etc., etc. As you see, many other people, like you, go through almost the same situation. Do NOT let this stop you from doing something positive with your life. Don't expect to be able to "change" your father's ways; only HE can do this if he really wants to. Focus on your studies, on sports, rely on other relatives and friends that love you, and most importantly, educate yourself to make sure you are prepared to face the challenges that you'll face once you're standing on your own two feet.

You really need to pray for your dad. Ask Jesus to help your dad see that drinking alcohol is not the answer to problems, and that it will only lead to pushing those he loves further away from him. I'll be in prayer about the situation too. God bless you!!!

Darlin if your own mom doesn't know it then you have some real problems. i hate to tell you this but the only person that knows for sure if he is an alcoholic is him. Whether he admits it or not is another story completely.

Sry that u are going through this. Maybe you should try talking to your counselor at your school. But i really recommend you to tell your mom about this. Do u have any proof that he is one? If you do tell show ur mom, and hope for the best. Hope this helps.

tell your mom please tell someone things will only get worse for u and it will make less happier every day and if your mom can't handle what you want to say then tell someone else another family member its better when you tell a friend because they want you to be okay and they will make sure you feel safe. I hope things turn out well for you. (:
