Just wanted to know if anyone thinks it would be possible to get a Playstation 3 for cheaper than what it is through store deals and such or would it just be the same price as it is now.

Get the PS3 now, the price isn't going down on the PS3 anytime soon. The 80GB PS3's price just recently dropped not too long ago, the 60GB PS3's price has been dropped for several months, and the new 40GB PS3 has just came out so Sony is most likely done with price drops for at least 6 months to a year.

I doubt that you will get any store deals either, just buy the PS3 now. This is how I see it, the sooner you buy the PS3 the longer you'll be enjoying it.

If you love to play PS2 games, than run to the store and get yourself 60GB ASAP, because it has the best backwards compatibility with PS2 games (it has 2 chips from PS2 - almost all PS2 games run). 80GB has only one ps2 chip, that's why only 80% of old games run. If you're not interested in old games - 40GB is the best option. There are no news about price reduction, but 40GB is already on sale for 399$ or 399 euro (depends where you live). By the way, if you're from PAL region - there is no PS3 with full backwards compatibility and 80GB isn't available here.

I dont think it will drop, but then I am no expert. What I do recommend is that if you are from Canada (probly not) you can get an amazing deal on dell.ca, check it out.
