I'm reading [113:5]. Perhaps my translated copy if the Koran is wrong? Can you tell me what that text means?

I think the words are "I seek refuge in the Lord of Daybreak from the mischief of his creation; from the mischief of the night when she spreads her darkness; from the mischief of conjuring witches; from the mischief of the envier, when he envies."

Yes, Muslims do believe that black magic exists, but they also believe that by reading certain verses of Quran [Surah an-Naas and Surah al-Falaq in particular], the spell has no effect on the person. The verse that you have quoted is from Surah al-Falaq.

EDIT"
Surah al-Falaq
The Dawn
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

[113.1] Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn,
[113.2] From the evil of what He has created,
[113.3] And from the evil of the utterly dark night when it comes,
[113.4] And from the evil of those who blow on knots,
[113.5] And from the evil of the envious when he envies

[Verse 113.4 refers to those who practice black magic].

Surah an-Naas

The People
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

[114.1] Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of men,
[114.2] The King of men,
[114.3] The God of men,
[114.4] From the evil of the whisperings of the slinking (Shaitan),
[114.5] Who whispers into the hearts of men,
[114.6] From among the jinn and the men.

Okay, Muslims believe in Magic, just Magic, there is no white and black magic, All magic is bad and magic can never be a good thing at all

Now the Question is: What is magic? From an Islamic point of view (Irreligious, Atheistic and secular people will find it illogical of course) Magic is simply when you use Demons to do things in order to trick people ,but not to physically or emotionally harm them. A Magician (not Illusionist) is someone who practices magic. The Qur'an assures that Magic can not actually harm people as we may think ,but to distract or trick them.

Muslims believe in the existence of Gins which are creatures that live with us but in different dimension or something like that. They are much stronger than humans and can do things that normal humans can't but they are still creatures. There are good ones and bad ones and bad ones are what we call 'demons'. However, the Qur'an warns more from the HUMAN demons who are actually much more harmful than the real ones ...

Maybe you should post the verse itself? (and it would help if you posted the verses before and after as well). I'm thinking that some people here are not quite understanding your question. They seem to think you're asking of witchcraft is used by Muslims. But as I see your question, you're just asking if they Believe it exists. Add some details to help us understand where you're coming from. =)

Yes, magic is real. The Qur'an mentions it. It is completely forbidden for Muslims.

Yes, and Witches are still executed in parts of Africa. Not sure about the Middle East, but I would guess they kill Witches, too.

Witchcraft is a separate religion, and whether you think it exists or not...it does.

muslims believe in only allah swt, anything else appears to be man made nonsense and not really worth discussing, unless you are superstitious, black magic is superstition and any one who thinks differently is a doughnut,
