I recently posted a question about the flu shot and said I've never had the flu nor do I get fevers, and now my boyfriend is saying that I jinxed myself and will get the flu. Do you agree? I don't. Here, I'm not afraid:

I have never had the flu, I will never have the flu, and my temperature never goes above 99.4, EVER.

actually my immune system sucks, I just never have gotten the flu so don't see the point in getting the shot

Good for you and your tremendous immune system.
Some people think when a professional athlete is on the cover of Sports Illustrated it's a Jinx. Usually it happens when a boxer has 20 straight victories and 15 of them knockouts. Well simple probability says you don't win all the time. That's prize fighting.

I don't believe in jinxing. I've only had the flu maybe twice in my entire life, and the first time was right after I got a flu shot - I was 8 or 9 years old. Probably coincidence, but I haven't had a flu shot since.

Avoiding getting the flu is simply a matter of practicing regular hygiene, like washing your hands and being a little bit anti-social during flu season: avoid drinking from someone else's cup or glass, avoid sharing food with someone, avoid crowded places (or at least don't linger) -- avoid intimate contact with your boyfriend if you think he's coming down with something -- no kissing, no holding hands, no touchy no sicky.

When you posted the question about flu, you were in the right category. But now you're not.
