Pitbulls are not evil. They are a breed of dog that was bred for many generations to fight. Then stupid people decided they would make good pets. Then, everybody acts suprised when they follow their breeding and attack. It's like trying to make a pet out of a wolf. As they grow, sooner or later, they will revert to their natural instincts.

Breeders are to blame, more than anyone else. It's not just bad owners who have troublesome pit bulls, it's virtually everyone that owns a pit bull. I've met a couple of gentler pit bulls in my life, but one should never forget that the pit bull has been bred (and continues to be bred) for fighting. Breeders could have made this a gentler dog, but thanks to all the wanna-be-macho fools that need to pump up their egos, there will always be a market for this breed as a "bad" dog. And sadly, a lot of these owners look at their dogs as disposable possessions: very cruel to the animals.

people really need to do research before answering questions. to begin with any mixedbreed or dog that can not be identified is called a "pit bull". that is the first and biggest mistake ALOT of people make when reporting a dog attack. AMERICAN PITBULL TERRIERS/AM STAFFS in the begining where breed to compete. that compation was fighting. they were breed to be aggressive towards animals only. any dog that showed any aggression towards a human was shot on site. so when one of these dogs truely attack a human it is a big surprise. these are some of the best breed of dog for little kids. very protective and will not hurt the kids. WHEN TRAINED THE RIGHT WAY. this breed is the reason there are k-9 units. petey(both of them) from the little rascal t.v. show is/was a perfect example on how this breed was meant to be with humans. i can go on for days giving examples of the good this breed has done. hell there use to be a APBT on war posters protraying the U.S.A. these dogs are the most versital breed out there. i have breed this breed since i was 15 years old. i am 35 now. and in the 20 years i have had this breed only 1 has bite anybody. and she never drew blood. she just held the guy down until my cousin got home from work. the guy was breaking into my cousins house. she was doing her job. i have dealt with close to 2000 dogs in the 20 years and to have 1 out of 2000 bite some one is pretty dam good. goto the link below and see just how well this breed compares to other "friendly" breeds. look at passing percentage as well as number tested and number passed. then tell me this is a viscious breed that needs to be killed off. if this breeds needs to go then there are alot of breeds we need to say godd bye to

Wow, it is people like you who perpetuate the bad image and reputation that pit bulls have. Of course there are many breeds that are susceptible to aggression, and pit bulls are hardly the only dogs that possess that trait. I would think wisely before asking a question that is so generalized and unfair to the many wonderful pit bulls out there.
"The fact that man knows right from wrong proves his intellectual superiority to other creatures; but the fact that he can do wrong proves his moral inferiority to any creature that cannot." ~ Mark Twain
Blame people, not pit bulls!

ANY breed of dog can be considered "evil". Pit Bulls are very strong and powerful dogs. In the wrong hands, they CAN be a lethal weapon. A chihuahua biting a kid on the arm is not going to cause much damage, a Pit Bull on the other hand..... I'll leave it to your imagination.

They aren't evil. That is such a generalization of an entire breed, like asking "why are black people criminals" just b/c that is what the media usually depicts on the news. The reason some pitts are aggressive is because they are very loyal to their owners, and when the wrong type of people get a pitbull & train it to be aggressive or to fight, the dog will think by doing that it is pleasing it's owner. Trust me, I have a pitbull & I used to thnik they were evil, scarry animals myself. My 1st hand experience with the breed has been nothing but wonderful. They can be great dogs to have. Unfortunatley some people are ruining this breed's future.

Only humans -- not pit bulls or any animal -- are capable of being evil. Want proof? Step outside. Please learn the facts about pit bulls instead of believing that BS that the media keeps feeding you.

They aren't. It's the irresponsible owners who turn them into horrible monsters that are evil. All they want to do is please the people they love, and the owners use that to their advantage to make the dog do horrible things. If raised properly, a pit bull can be the greatest dog you've ever had.

Pit bulls aren't evil, no animals are evil. Some people make animals agressive for their OWN EVIL pleasure. Saying that any animal has the posibility to be agressive, it depends largly on how they're raised and treated.
