Most ants have poor to mediocre eyesight and others are blind altogether. Some ants have exceptional vision though, including Australia's bulldog ant.

Define 'See'.

If it is recognition of their environment by whatever senses that they have available, then they do see.

Not all ants are workers and some 'work' by wandering off. After all they don't have a permanent location for their food sources.

But basically, they are colony creatures (most of them anyway) and will tend to stay in the colony for their means of life and the life of the colony.

They can see. Their brains are wired so that wandering off from the group is never an option - instinct tells them to work together.

They do see--though some not too well--and often are tempted to just wander off.

But, alas, what is a girl to do? There is so much to be done and never is a guy around to help out!
