The mind is one of the 3 major parts of the soul, not to be confused with the spirit, and the other 2 parts are the will and emotions.
The soul is probably connected to the brain, but is beyond the brain as well. While the soul is not eternal, it can obtain an eternal nature by being washed with the Word of God and recieving the Word of God with meekness.

The mind is in the "firing" of the neurons in the nervous system, not just the brain. Every feeling, thought, sensation, hope, fear, etc. is the subjective experience of nerve cells firing. When they stop, the mind stops. When they are disordered, the mind is disordered. When the nerve tissue in certain areas of the brain is damaged or removed such things as the ability to speak, to feel emotion, to hold moral values even can be eliminated.

The way for me to answer is to say that the brain is physical, but the mind just is.
I don't think that the mind is somewhere tangible per say, but that it is because of our being.
Lets say, because we exist,so we are.
Lastly, the mind is probably near to where the heart of man is.
Hope that helps.
Have a blessed day.
