I have relatives who are religious and cold and cruel as hell. They say that by beleiving in Christ that gives them the power to do whatever they want and be however they want to be and be forgiven. Even driving another relative to try to commit suicide. They act like they are the perfect christians and are mean and cruel and sadistic. Are they right? Is that what christianity is a give and take religion where u can be mean and cruel all your life and still go to heaven?

unfortunately they are not alone. I know a few that are very rude and run over people often. It is sad, but not right. There are however, many Christians who are true and very kind and thoughtful and willing to give as much as they can to others. Look what Jesus teaches about the church that there will be good people and bad people who go to the same church.
Matthew 13:24 ¶ Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Honey, the best defense against people like this is their own defense. And I mean taking the bible, cutting out some scripture and mailing it with a letter about horrible their behavior truly is. One of God's greatest teachings is that we are to be accepting of other's faults. We are to treat others as we would like to be treated.

And if that fails, as someone who was raised Roman Catholic, tell them "if they have nothing nice to say, to say nothing at all". It's why the nuns say "silence is golden".

Dear Mr.

Jesus cursed the fig tree that produced no fruit..and that was just a tree..it withered from the roots up and died.

It's terrible when a person "pretends" to be something they are not, and give a bad name to the cause of Jesus Christ.
Try to forgive them if you can.
And remember...God is not that way...he is not like people..he is kind and he loves you.

They are very confused about the tenets of a religion they claim to follow. They should be loving, caring, compassionate, giving, fleeing from sin. A true Christian will want to live the most righteous life they can. Weeding out one sin at a time. They certainly should not glory in their unrighteousness. Jesus will one day say,"I never knew you, depart from me ye that work iniquity" to many that will cry unto Him, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?..."

Christians are not supposed to judge others, but they are not living their lives the way I understand the Bible tells us to live. The Bible tells us over and over again to "love one another". It doesn't sound as if they're being very loving, and as a Christian, I apologize for their behavior.

Jesus says that Christians are those who believe in him, but he also says crystal clear that YOU SHOULD PROVE YOU BELONG TO ME BY THE WAY YOU LIVE.

God is all good; your relatives being cold and creul to you share no connection with God. They are CERTAINLY NOT RIGHT. It is NOT by claiming you're Christian that you're free from sin! Remember that and pray that they'll realize the darkness their in right now.

I'll pray to help you. Best of Luck!

No, no Bible, no e book, no longer something--apart from 1 small 3x5 "card" which reads........... thank you Lord for the grimy dishes they have a narrative to tell. whilst others could be hungry we are ingesting nicely. This became given to me by using my paternal grandmother whilst i became a youthful spouse and searching forward to my first newborn. even though it burned in a house hearth some years in the past, I do bear in mind the verse.

They are not a biblical example of a Christian. I'm sorry they are mean. We can't do what we want. We must live a holy separated life, not to mention a good example.

Even if these relatives of yours were not religious, they would still be terrible people. The only thing about their being religious is that it does supply them with a watertight justification for their behavior.
