Neck bones and other bones are great stuff! If you roast your chicken tuck the neck bone into the bottom of the pan to flavor your drippings for gravy.
Or, put the neck bones and other cut away bones into a pot with some onion, celery, and carrots and make some stock, simmer till everything pretty much disintegrates, cool, strain, then freeze and use later in soup.

Boil and making stock is the best way to go!! This will make a great chicken gravy base..There's a lot of hidden flavors in a chicken neck bone.

I use every part of the chickens I purchase. I make the chicken and save the bones. Then when I want chicken soup, I'll take the bones out of the freezer and simmer them for stockl. I even put the guts out on the compost pile (it makes EXCELLENT fertilizer!).

A lot of people boil it with seasonings and such and make a stock for soup. Some people add it to vegetables or beans to give it flavor. It can be used for a few things but I don't use it that often. Good Luck!!!!

I usually throw it away cause it looks so gross! lol But you can make chicken stock with it by boiling it till it falls apart with some onion and carrot and celery and then strain it. This makes an excellent base for soup!!

Make stock for soup. Save the backbone and neck in the freezer until you have enough for stock.

I save them up and make a great soup stock with them. They make an excellent base for the soup, and if you have the backs too toss them in also.

We used to boil that and all rest of the innards to make sure they are cooked and then my cousin would just eat them plain. I think it is gross but he loves it. Same thing for the turkey at thanksgiving.

you could use it to make chicken stock/broth, boil it in with the rest of the ingredients, but remove it when the broth is finished cooking
