I need to pay this bill, but I want to do it now online, and not wait for it to go through the mail.

You can pay online at the EFTPS website. If you don't already have an account you will have to set on up and then they will mail you a password.
It may be more convient to just mail the payment in or take it to the closest IRS office if you want to pay it off.

visit the Internal Revenue Service website: www.irs.gov
but paying online will cost you a fee. Call IRS at 1-800-829-0922 or 1-800-829-8374 to give you the payoff balance and send them a check instead.
Since you owe are you sure you can't file a 1040X amended return, maybe you didn't include every thing you should have. Or did you receive a letter stating you owe for an unfiled year, you can still file that year and probably owe less.
Or is it a balance you owe for the year 2006 return? Either way you have the right idea to full pay it amount owed since interest and penalties will keep accrueing until you the balance is paid off.

You are going to have to send them a check. Currently only businesses can pay online. Online payment for individuals will be coming soon, as all things are coming online.
