None of the above. Because reducing greenhouse gas emissions 1% only delays global warming by 1%. So it takes 101 years instead of 100 years for the north polar ice cap to melt. If that is all I get for giving up driving, then I have been robbed.

The REAL scientists are saying we need to reduce emissions by 90% in 50 years to really stop global warming. So every person in the world would have to give up all 4 of those things AND give up air conditioning, regigeration, all motorized transport, including bringing food from farms to cities, electric light. 90% of EVERYTHING modern would have to end in 50 years. I prefer to give up the north pole to that alternative.

But no matter, because in 100 years, if we do nothing, all the oil in the world will be used up and we will have to give it all up anyway. So we BETTER get BUSY working on alternative energy sources.

I say again, WORK on ALTERNATIVES, don't just GIVE UP things to delay the end by 1 year.

I've already given up D, quite some time ago. I could give up B in a heartbeat. I'll even throw in air travel, since I rarely do, though I've got a dear friend moving to Norway, and another on the opposite coast. I can take the train to visit the one friend, though, and I know from experience that can be a lot of fun. At any rate, I am ready, willing and able to adjust my lifestyle for the greater good.

What would YOU give up?

None of the above. there is a myth--promoted by the oil companies and other special interests--and the mindless followers who spout their propaganda.

The reality is that the primary cause of global warming--burning fossil fuels--is an obsolete technology that dates from the 1800s--and remains important only because of their control of American public policy.

There are a wide range of technologies--fromsolar powr to electric cars to energy efficient building methods--that will REDUCE costs to consumers while improving, rather than limiting-, our quality of life.

I'm all for that. I'm sick of ignorant apologists for the oil companies who want me--and millions of otherAmericans--tokeep paying ridiculous prices for energy produced by obsolete technology that should have been junked years ago--for no reason than to keep some oil company execsin caviar and prostitutes.

Check your figures.... car transportation accounts for close to 20% of the CO2 emissions in the US !!!!

1% wouldn´t make a big difference

Also TV energy consumption is minimum... compared to its stand-by power !!!

The internet, since it reduces the need for transportation has probably a net positive effect (telecommunications account for 1% or less of the energy demand)

electric powered autos will cut back finished CO2 emissions if the electrical energy they use a million: isn't created from fossil fuels different than organic gasoline. 2: would not make it mandatory for the grid to purchase electrical energy from a much off plant run on fossil fuels, 3: would not forestall the interior of sight grid from exporting sparkling electrical energy to different components that are severely powered via fossil fuels. Now in North us of a, this incorporates no components by any ability. If one grants ones very own capability from wind or image voltaic, you may capability a motor vehicle as far with the aid of fact the batteries will take it out of your abode base with out employing capability it somewhat is created from fossil gasoline or forces somebody else to apply greater fossil gasoline. Or, you need to sell that capability to the grid and make an instantaneous contribution to lowering finished CO2 production.

I pretty much don't watch that much TV anymore.
I would be willing to give up C, though I would be forced to walk, since I never learned to ride a bicycle... Guess there's Mopeds too though! xD

I would be willing to give up eating most meat too. Especially hamburger, 'tis disgusting.

Watching television. Got the Lakers and Suns on right now and after seeing the World Series I could be done with TV forever. BTW it is the Internet, not the internet. Thank you.
