I did not have this dream, a friend did, and I'm trying to work it out. I have searched it online and in my dream books, but would like some other opinions. I'm sorry I don't have much to work with. In the dream, my friend was at some sort of gathering. Someone (he does not remember who) walked up to him and gave him and evergreen (probably fir or pine). He felt very happy about this.

yes a very good symbol.
if you think about the essence of an ever green it makes sense. 'ever'- as in it stays continually, 'green' - representing life and prosperity. even through winter the trees stay green and thriving, where other trees hibernate and drop their leaves and look dead.
it was given to your friend as a gift- that he may thrive and be full of life, even in the 'winter seasons' of life.
oh and just to add- trees often represent the 'life force' or 'spirit' of a person. for example if your friend had a tree that was withering, then that would be showing that he is not doing so well in life, if it was tall and strong, then it shows his strong character, if it needed water, then he needs refreshing etc etc.

I am not a dream expert, but I would say it was a good luck dream, someone giving him some sort of plant. Bamboo given to someone means good luck. And it made him happy. It would make me happy to receive an evergreen. Nice dream.
