And what exactly do you think a satanic school is?

Anyway, surely christians are all for freedom of religion (and surely satanism is a religion) - the right of everyone to hold whatever religion (or none) they want?

If they aren't comfortable with a 'satanic' school, what does that say about their much-vaunted tolerance. Or are they only tolerant as long as you are another christian?

Not very well. But do you really think they'd know the difference between a Satanic school and a Wiccan School?

Peace to you.

the first answer of separation of church and state is horrible. first of all a private school can do what it likes. that is why it is private and that is why the OP put "private school" into his question.

secondly if you want to teach the bible as fact it should only be done in a private section of schools not in the public government facilities. Our government should not be encouraging one religion over another.

If you do not want your kids learning about evolution you can put kids into private school. this idea of equal time is silly. how would creationist like it if the preachers had to preach the idea of evolution in church?

Oh, my.

It would depend on the denomination of Christianity. The Unitarian Universalists would likely say "live and let live". The Southern Baptists would be VERY outraged. And you'd find every possible reaction in between.

Or at least, that would be my guess.

I don't think the enrollment would be to good, but at least all satanic children and their parents would be in one place and known by the community.I would rather they were in one school instead of all schools. I wonder what the team mascot would be.

If it is a private school...they can react all they want but it won't do any good.

They'd burn everyone inside -- like a modern day witch trial (even though Satanists are not witches) and then blame someone else.

The fundies would show up en masse to support it. Can't you hear their shouts of support?
Oh dear.... that doesn't sound very supportive, does it?

Edit- "I would rather they were in one school instead of all schools." Why Allen, you would have loved the old Jim Crow laws I bet.

they'd have a double standard

they'd shout "f--k democracy and freedom and american rights" and try to close it down like it was a titty bar/crackhouse run by al queda.

then they'd ask their state governor for a mandated "moment of silence" during public school, for, you know, reflection.

About the same way we reacted to the Creation "Museum", except they would probably burn it down.
