Totally breed and breeder dependent.

Expensive. And think LONG AND HARD about quarantine laws. Do lots of research. When a domestic animal comes into most countries, they're quarantined. Depending on the animal, their certification, and the country's laws, dogs could be quarantined for anywhere between about 2 weeks and 6 months.

There are a few ways to get around this, but very few. One of the airlines (I believe Continental) has some deal to bypass quarantine going between the UK and the US (on the condition that your dog is up to date on everything required for BOTH countries, and has a 100% clear bill of health)... but ONLY the UK and the US. However, this involves the dog being shipped in a crate in the cargo area overseas, which in itself is very unsafe (1 out of 5 dogs is killed or lost when riding in the cargo area, and the risks get greater on long trips).

It depends on the breeder.
