I would love to tell you that if you took the laxatives, you would be thinner tomorrow. But unfortunately, I cannot. I have tried before, with the same problems too, bloating, and eating alot of food, and that guilt gets to me, especially when I wanted to look good for an occassion. Took the laxatives, and I, dangit, looked the same. So, it really does not help, if at all. If you really wanted to look a little more slender, you can hop on the treadmill, go walking.. do something active that will work out your body to loosen up. I'm not saying the slenderness will be BAM there after 20 minutes on a treadmill, I'm just saying that it might help relieve the bloating. It's worked for me =]

You need a little lecture: LAXATIVES ARE A TERRIBLE WAY TO TRY TO LOSE WEIGHT! You won't be thinner over night, your gut might feel like it's on fire for the whole time, and it screws up your normal intestinal processes.

It's seriously a bad practice, and it doesn't matter if you do it all the time or not.

Now that my lecture is through, make sure you drink enough water today and tomorrow to be adequately hydrated, and you will look and feel better all day/night tomorrow. Your body and your skin will look better, and you'll be less tempted to period-binge. At the party, eat some things you like and don't fret about how you look.

No, the laxitives will not help. Your period does NOT cause your intestine's to bloat. It is your whole body and laxatives will not fix it. Also you may be too sick to attend the party. Think what will happen if you have laxative "relapse" DURING the party!!!

You will be fine as you are. Drink extra water tonight and tomorrow and forget about it or wear a different dress. Call all your friends if you have to and borrow a different dress if your that concerned. Wear a jacket, scarf or over shirt. Buy a girdle, but skip the laxatives, they will not do what you want.

Go have fun instead!!!

Just drink a litre of water first thing in the morning... believe me, that will work just as effectively as laxatives but will actually make you feel good afterwards. Laxatives could mess up your system and make you feel dreadfully weak and gassy later on. A whole lot of water is all you need. And do lots of situps and stretching exercises or go for a run to get rid of any gassiness that could be bloating you up.

No. you'd just be loosing water wieght. It doesn't work that fast. When I took laxatives I lost weight but my measurements stayed the same. So there you go. It takes time.
I wouldn't recommend it though it's unhealthy to loose weight in this way and it makes you feel really ill. I'd never put myself through that again.

Laxatives may need to you to visit the loo too often and moreover it won't reduce your size. the best medicine I found to help avoid bloating during period is midol, try it.

No, in fact by being more confident with yourself you'll actually look better in your dress.

I think you'd just appear to be running to the bathroom.
