For example, if a church speaks against makeup/jewelry, should a lady be allowed to sing on the podium like that?

No, that would be hypocritical, wouldn't it?

Apparently this has happened where you are/were going to, right? No one there will honestly talk it over? It seems if they were sincere, they would quickly see that it was an inconsistent statement the church made, whether they realized it at the time or not.

Unless she is a guest from another denomination, it would seem terribly hypocritical. But a guest should be informed of the standards of the church so that she would not offend.
