Wait for what?

Feed and water your dogs. I'm happy they came back!

Hey that's great! Thanks for sharing the good news. Actually 24 hours without food is not a very big deal for humans or for dogs. But the lack of water is much more serious. Yes you can feed them. Very important to keep an eye on them the next day or two as they may have eaten what they should not (picked up a chicken bone, etc.) also check all over the body for cuts or splinters.

Good grief---FEED THEM!!

I wouldn't overdo it, though, as it will make them sick. They are probably so hungry they will eat and drink until they throw up--sometimes very hungry dogs will scarf down their food so fast they swallow it whole, then when they drink water, the water makes the food swell in thier stomachs, which will make them throw up and cause them discomfort. Feed them their usual amount, with water, wait about 15 minutes for the food to settle, then offer more food. And I'm glad your story has a happy ending.

:o)

Yes, feed the dogs. Just give them their regular amount of food. They don't need to gorge themselves to make up for lost meals. Giving them too much food at once will just lead to issues. I'm glad your dogs are back. Please take extra measures to make sure they don't get loose again. Have identification tags on the dogs' collars at all times.

Let them eat and drink, they will be fine. We had a dog that started wandering once we neutered him (go figure) and was gone for 2 weeks, came back a walking skeleton, we fed him non stop to help him regain his weight and then he left 2 weeks later once he had some weight on and we never saw him again. So yes feed them a nice big bowl of food, some water and keep them tied or in a fenced yard when they are outdoors.

Why exactly would you wait to feed them? Give them food & water, and plenty of it.
