i just got my kitten n the lady had told me that she pooped hard n the first day she did then after that she started to poop like liquid. like right after she eats she goes to the bath room. There was blood in her poop. i was thinking that maybe it was the food she was on and maybe i should change it. Today i got her new food. Is that normal for a kitten?

Get the kitten to the vet asap and don't change any food without talknig to a vet. Go to the emergenct vet if it is after hours. This is not something to wait on.

Also at 6 weeks, the kitten was not weened yet from the mother. The human involved may have "weened" her, but it was weeks before the mother would have completely weened her if left on her own.

Firstly, she's so young, she shouldn't be away from her mother yet. Secondly, don't abruptly change her food, this will cause even more stomach upset. To change foods, begin combining the new food with the old and slowly ween out the old. She may just be stressed, is it a lot of blood, or just a tiny amount? When cats are stressed, in a new environment, away from mom, they will get diarrhea and sometimes may have blood in their stool. If this continues longer than a day, I would call your vet and have her looked at.

You already got some great advice, but I just wanted to add that I hope you haven't given her any milk. Most cats are, like most humans, lactose intolerant. If she's been given any milk other than her mommy's milk, that might account for blood in her stools. If her stools are too hard, it's also possible that there's a tear in her rectum from too-hard-too-large poops, and that could account for the blood. I would take her to see the vet ASAP to have her checked. Don't wait.

No of course it's not normal - would it be normal for blood to come out of YOUR bottom?

Diarrhoea is one thing, but blood in it is an obvious sign of illness. Please get the kitten to a vet.

you may want to think about getting her to the vet if that doesn't go away in the day or so.
