Spencer's "theory of evolution" was overshadowed by Charles Darwin's since Spencer's lacked an effective theory natural selection, it is Charles Darwin's theory that most people accept.
Believe is not the correct term to use with scientific theories.

Spencer was a Lamarckian, but he was still ahead of his time. People have speculated that had Darwin's ship sunk with him on board off the coast of South America, Spencer would have proposed the best working version of evolution in his place (but not natural selection, which is the reason we know about Darwin).
Lamarckism doesn't work. It's wishful thinking. Spencer paved the way for social Darwinism, which turns out to have been pretty unpleasant. There are no good reasons for accepting Spencer's theories of evolution.

I do not know who Herbert Spencer is.
As for modern evolutionary theory. I do not "believe" it, but I do accept that it correctly explains the observed natural phenomenon of evolution.

Well, he used an extremely poor choice of words, 'survival of the fittest' which unfortunately to many uneducated people suggest 'survival of the strongest', and he did hold with Lamarcianism...
but in general, his concept that natural selection is the driving force for evolution seems pretty spot on, even if his details were way off the mark.

no. i don't know what his theory was, beyond the memorable but slightly misleading phrase 'survival of the fittest'. it seems unlikely to be relevant today, since spencer wrote over 150 years ago.

NO! there is no evidence to supproy the theory of evolution, none. There has been no links. If you want to believe evolution, you would have to believe everything evolved in lurches. One moment in time your on all fours, the next moment in time your walking upright. They take bits and pieces of bone here nd there and say look here, this animal looked like this and it was our ancester. Bunk! show me one shred of concrete proof evolution happens.
Oh yeah, Darwin, on his death bed, asked God for forgiveness. Historical fact!
