You would have to relocate before you could even think about pursuing a career in singing. That would be nearly impossible alone. A career that you are thinking about is one of the most competitive out there. I think you have 2 chances- slim and none. You don't even have any idea of what it is like in the USA. It sounds like an unrealistic goal. Bloom where you are planted.

Do not try to live as a singer in the US. It is very difficult, and you have to be right at the top in order to make a living.

The best thing for you to do will be to finish your BA and then apply for admission to a college in the US for MA or PhD (in whatever field you are in). Once you come here, you can start to pursue singing as a hobby. If you become good, you can leave your studies and do singing only. Otherwise, you can do singing on the side.

It is a crap shoot.

Any career that requires 'talent' is, it is not just skill and perseverance, but a lot of luck, and meeting the right people to get ahead. I live in Los Angeles and a lot of people here work for studios. There are many, many people 'living on the fringes' of the industry for every one who makes it. It is almost worse if they get one or two breaks, because it leads them to 'hang on' longer than is reasonable for the next one.

It might be better for you to get a student visa to somewhere with a good drama/music program and ask a professional what your chances are. Then if it isn't going to work out you won't have uprooted your entire life.

Just a thought.

Good luck, though.

no job form, just talent. you could try out for american idol, but anyone's chance there is slim. I really don't think you should rely soley on a singing career because it's so risky. If you just want to do something like sing in a restaurant, (given that you have a good enough voice) you totally could.

GOOD LUCK :-)
and remember, Jesus <3s YOU :-)

There is an excess of young women wishing to make thier living as singers in the US. Few ever succeed. It's probably the worst career move you could possibly make, and certainly not worth fleeing your homeland to persue, regardless of how hard your homeland seems to suck at the moment.

the music industry is extremely hard to get into, even people that have had training are in an almost impossible situation. if you want to come to the united states and try for a job singing you certainly can apply for a visa.

if you are wondering how to become a singer.. i think you should move to the us and go to Los Angeles because thats where most singers get their careers. About your life story.. its kind of sad no offence. lol and um.. it depends on what kind of singing careers you want some of them u have to fill out a form and some of them you can audition for parts. i hope that answered you question. :)
