At what age should a Child be able to zip their own coat? Just curious, my daughter is two 1./2 and has successfully done it over and over, but I thought that was something older kids did.....any ideas?

From personal experience, I think that depends both on the child and on the coat! My sister and I developed the coordination at different ages, but certain coats we inherited, especially if they had cheap plastic zippers, couldn't be zipped very easily.

My daughter has been able to do zips up for awhile now, she is 2 and a half also. I think zips are easy for them once they get the hang of it but buttons are more tricky. My daughter can undo them but not do them up.

Hmm... I don't know the average age. This is my first child, my daughter is also 2 and can do it, I just figured it was normal. Now as someone else said buttons are trickier my DD has not attempted those yet.
