I have a 93' Lexus LS400 with 109k miles and the gas, speedometer, and tacometer gauges are lit up fine but only work intermitently. The gas gauge never goes above half full, but is usually on empty, even when there is plenty of gas. Also, you can tell what time the digital clock reads, but it has dark parts on the display like something is wrong. Now, I was wondering if this could be linked to my car running like the exhaust is clogged at low speeds and me having to take my foot off the gas and put it back on to power through it and it sounds like it is misfiring and just drives horribly, but I can get it up to highway speeds where it runs much better and gets decent gas mileage. I had a full tune-up, had the cats checked, and had a compression test done on the engine and nobody can find the problem Could there be fuses burnt out that affect the computer and make my car run horribly and also prevent the instrument cluster from working properly even though it is lit up perfectly?

You have two separate problems. The instrument cluster for
the old ls 400s are known for failing or partially working. Bad
news is that replacing it is the only way to get your instrument
cluster back. The price for this is more than one thousand dollars. For your other problem, it sounds that your EGR system is failing or you have a vacuum leak. If you instrument cluster is not working you probably cant see the check engine light illuminated. The only way to retrieve codes to help a technician diagnose it is by reading how many times the check engine light blinks. Take your vehicle to a Lexus dealership and get it done right.

It is a particularly exceptional automobile to inform your children used to be your first; and is particularly trustworthy. I love the black rims and tint; used to be it a drug trader's automobile? Is the picture from an impound lot? Just teasing! If the automobile hasn't been tweaked greater than cosmetically, you are well for one more 100K miles, plus extra. Any Toyota trader can paintings on it, but it surely should not provide you a lot if any disorders. See if the fellow has carrier files; at 85K it perhaps due for some of the "BIG" music united states of americaso as to rate a grand, however truthfully, this rig will see you through institution and extra. Really exceptional automobile. My spouse has a 2001 three hundred ES and has had not anything however a far flung manipulate battery challenge. Do this; this is a traditional; real. Take it to a trader (Lexus or Toyota) spend a pair dollars to have it on a boost and investigate it out. It would be a exceptional purchase. Best needs.

lexus LS400 is nown to have the problem where moisture enters the clock and blacks out the display for the clock, I have an LS400 but I didnt have that problem, once we were driving in arizona and the speedometer just dropped to zero, then it went to its normal position for 1 second and dropped to the maximum speed. check your airfilter if you have the engine problems, that was causing my lexus to run badly, or maybe its the electronic fuel injection or the distributor cap

I too have a 93 LS 400 and have the exact same problems with the displays. I have taken it in and they said the cost to fix the problem is not worth the cost of the vehicle, so I decided not to fix it.

That's a really old car, probably not worth investing in repairs.
