i've found this device that u can hang on a tree that is a high pitched sound frequency thing that will piss a dog off when it barks, do you think its illegal to put this on a tree that is on my property but close enough to shut this yapping dog up so i can get a decent nights sleep?

I totally understand! I have neighbors that have two rat terrier...all our neighborhood people call these dogs "The Terrorist"!!!! The bark and howl at each other all the time...and sometimes they fight with each other. They have done this now for nearly 3 years. I know it is not illegal to do that as I have contacted the local authorities to ask about our "terrorists"! Go for it! without proper sleep a body cannot function!

lol! may make it worse ? , if its that bad and they arnt willing to deal with the problem then local authorities , like council enviromental health can make them deal with it.
theres no reason why someone cant sort out excessive barking problems, they just cant be bothered .
better idea for you would be to throw a cup of water or shoot water pistol (not a bucket or super soaker even if you are tempted !!) over the dog every time it starts, its not cruel , very effective and widely used method amongst trainers .

What isn't legal is for a dog to be a nuisance. If I were you, I would call my local animal control and make them aware of the situation. To answer your question - hey, it's YOUR property - right?

you have the right to do as you wnat as long as it's on your property. I had one and they do work pretty good.
Good luck my problem is the dog that barks all night is 3 houses away and it barks and howls all night ling and htose don't work that far.

no its not it is a sort of bark collar but it doesnt go on the dog's neck.
