Your son has a legal right to be a part of that child's life.
I would start by explaining it to the girl tha you all can work together to raise the child as a family...or that you can it through the courts system and DNA testing. Hopefully she will see it logically, and realize that the coming baby needs all the family he/she can get. And that includes a Dad and a loving Grandma too!
Good luck to you and your family!

I think that every parent should be able to be in their childs life and it is not fair for one parent to not let the other parent be involved. I see so many mothers out there acting like it is a game or some power trip to keep their children away from their fathers. I don't agree with some of the peoples comments about passing blame on your son for getting the girl pregnant. It takes two not one to conceive a child. It is also better if two are helping raise that child. If the mother of the child is being uncooperative then you ned to take her to court. First you will need blood test to determine the paternity of the child then you can go from there. I would seek the advice of an attorney. Good luck I hope your son will get some parental rights.

She has no choice in the matter as long as your son "does the right thing." That means he has to stay close physically, pay child support, and by court order be listed as the father on the birth certificate and get visitation rights. She needs to understand that she is doing a great disservice to the kid by excluding the father from his life. It doesn't have to be an overly negative situation, but to be honest, these things usually don't work out well at all. Usually someone or more than person in the whole thing ruins it. Someday people will re-learn, don't have kids with people you aren't married to, do things in order if you want them to be orderly.

That's tough
I think that this girl is still use to being one person. In her eyes she is broken up from your son. I think if you guys(mostly him, you do not want to seem overbearing) begin by making it known that you are there for her for what ever she needs she my come around. Try not to be to pushy. Have your son remind her that he is looking forward to the baby as much as she is. Try asking if he can go to doctor visits. My biggest advice is; do not threaten or go to court unless it is the very last option. She is going to be very protective of what she considers to be her baby a part of her. (even if it is a part of him to.)

The only way is through the courts. If she refuses to let you or the babies father see the baby you have to go through the system where visitation will be set up and she will not have a choice. Family is important and that baby should know his/her daddy as well as the rest of the family.

Please teach you son to take responsibility and prepare to help support his new son--whether or NOT he gets to be a part of his life!!! ALSO since he's sexually active, TEACH him to use condoms!!!! HOW OLD IS THIS SON? And WHY would he RISK having to be financially responsible for the next 18 yrs of his LIFE if he's not ready to marry and have a family!!!! IF sons do not learn from their parents, they learn from an irresponsible peer group!!! TAKE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY OF PARENTHOOD AND GET HIM TO BE FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE BEFORE THE COURT DOES!!!
