Nope, some things are just pure coincidence...
People just tell themselves that everything happens for a reason so that they don't feel bad about the the sh*tty things that happen to them in life...

I do, but the reason can be very hard to figure out. Science tries to find the reason for things, and sometimes it takes an awful lot of time and thought, along with experimentation, to find the right reason. The spiritual can be just as complicated. Life was not meant to be unchallenging, even in regard to the mind. Some people like to be mentally lazy, and think God is okay with that. God is into bring the most out of all human capabilities.
