Analog stereo out is fine for most people. Audio quality depends more on the amp and speakers when using a digital source.

Most TVs offer poor audio quality with minimal bass.

Pick up a new amp/ receiver when you can to enjoy 5.1 sound.

Do you mean the "Toshiba A2 does not have 6 RCA jacks out the back?"

All HD players and HDTV box's must output 5.1. This is the sound-standard for HDTV.

You must hook into the optical port.

Just use a optical/coaxial digital cable and you will get the regular dolby digital stream out of the dolby digital plus soundtrack.
