meticulously. i've learned that if you roll your clothes, and/or wrap them in ziplock bags or some kind of plastic [sounds tacky, but no joke!] you can fit more into the suitcase. AND your clothes don't wrinkle as bad. i usually pack my shoes in the side left corner; [if i am only packing one extra pair, otherwise i have a small bag with a few extra pairs in there] undergarments in the side pouches, or on the bottom. then the rest.
Toiletries have thier own little bag as does makeup and etc. [hair dryer/curling/flat iron etc]
I put those on the side of the suitcase. inside, usually on the right. IDK why.
I try not to over pack. Carrying a lot of luggage isn't a good thing. [Just pack the basics; and an outfit or so that is weather-depending;] Just a suitcase, maybe the rolling kind, and a "carry-on" bag.
I don't travel much. But i've learned that too much crap is not a good thing. It's obnoxious to carry and difficult to manage.
♥
But it really depends on WHERE you're going and for HOW LONG to determine what to pack. ♫
I usually end up with three bags though; i combine my shoes with my two toilteries/makeup bags in one ROFL. The suitcase has clothes. Then my 'carry-on' bag. *yikes*
I sometimes pack an iron if i think the hotel/place won't have on. Isn't that sad??? lmao

There's a very precise procedure if you want your clothes to arrive wrinkle-free. If that's not a concern, there are more options open to you.
I lay out all my stuff, then divide the pile in half before I begin packing. After many different techniques, I find that putting clothes in the bags you compress by rolling up is great; it makes them take up less room, and it's easy to grab things and put them away when I get to my destination.
Of course, I put them together by type--tops, bottoms, sox and underwear, etc.
Put your heavy stuff (shoes, toiletry bag, etc.) at the end of the suitcase that has the wheels; things won't get smooshed so much.
I put more fragile things in between layers of clothes, or if they're small, inside my shoes. I also save those bags full of compressed air that you get from some shipped packages; they make great protective buffers for breakables.

buy some vacuum seal storage bags (the kind that you suck the air out of with a hoover) pack your things into this and you will have an amazing amount of things packed, and not creased, when you get to your destination you can also use space bag storage bags.
If you don't want to do this, start off your case with the largest items on the bottom, pack underwear and socks etc inside shoes, and put all small items around the edges of the case, with towels etc on top, roll up swimwear, etc into any nooks and cranny's. (but the space bags are still your best bet)

Shoes on the bottom and usually I'll put socks or underwear in the shoes. Also I roll my clothes, that way you get more into the suitcase. All my lotions and toiletries I pack in ziploc bags and put them in the center of the suitcase, between clothes.

It depends in part how much and what you plan to take. I try to lay things flat if possible, sticking socks in shoes, and putting shoes around the perimeter of the suitcase. Here's a web site to help you decide what to pack and how to pack it.

Yip
First compress anything that can be compressed or folded
Like clothes.
Then start with the largest items
Say a Nintendo Wii
Then pack the middle sized items in the bag
And lastly pack the fragile things with your clothes so they dont break

Chunk it all in and iron it out at the hotel. There is a procedure however, for the return trip from Europe. Roll all that good beer, wine and liquor up in your dirty clothes so the bottles don't get broken!

I think there's a certain thing to it...
cz something that we've got from my dad is to use space efficiently... lol... in a tiny suitcase... you could find tons of stuff! :D
lol...
Sometimes my cousins joked about it when we went on a trip together... they'd ask do you have an iron, dryer, etc. in there too :D

tyra had a show about this last week.
so i'm considering myself a pro lol.
the easiest/fastest way is to get everything out of the closet (still on hangars)
all at once, and just kinda drape them all at once into the suitcase folding them over if necessary.
put all small items inside of shoes to save room.
