just rescued a 1 yr old pitbull/st.bernard need some ideas for a name?

Thank you for rescuing!!! And a pit mix too, that is truly wonderful!!!
I'm useless with names, however. My dog's name is Maizee. She was named Maizee when we adopted her. Her original name (from her former owners) was Maggie. She looks more like a Maizee though.
Is this cutie a boy or a girl? And do you have any pictures?

Marqui works very well for girls and boys, if you want specifics, girls- Kayrah or boys- Kayroh all of them are really pretty names with a bit of a twist! Hope this helps!

Here's an idea:
Observe the dog for some time. Watch how his/her personality is. You can name him/her something to do with their personality. My friends have done that. My family and I named one of our pets after a rock band, there's a suggestion. Name it after a band or singer. Or you can name it after their looks. (Ex: scruffy dog, name is Scruffy or Fluffly)
There is also where you can just think of a random name and name him/her.

If its a girl, i would name her Jessie or Belle. If its a boy, name him bear, or Max.

it's got to be a name that is something that you like... no amount of us telling you what should name him will help.
Think of favorite books, movies, tv shows and you'll come up with something.
