Tetanus shots are good for 10 years. Your last shot was 7 years ago.
"Tetanus can be prevented with a vaccine. Children who are less than 7 years of age can receive DTaP vaccine - a combined vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough). Teenagers and adults should receive booster doses of Td vaccine, a combined vaccine against tetanus and diphtheria every 10 years."
"If I am injured, how do I know if I need a tetanus shot?
* For a minor injury - Get a tetanus shot if your last tetanus shot was over 10 years ago.
* For a complicated or contaminated wound (including puncture wounds) - Get a tetanus shot if your last tetanus shot was over 5 years ago. "

The main concern is keeping the wound clean & making sure an infection doesn't set in.
Wash out the wound w/ water & apply Bactine or Neosporin.
Let your parents know.

First off, talk to your parents - they should take you to the doctor to get a tetanus shot.
Second - what were you doing with a rusty saw at 12 years old?

Tetanus shots only hold for up to 10 years so definately go get one. And make sure you clean the cut very good with peroxide and anti-bacterial and cover it up so nothing can grow-neosporin or antibiotic ointment on bandaids.

Those shots are generally good for ten years, and they recommend a booster shot if you get a particularly nasty cut after five years. In your case, you should be fine by if you just worry about keeping it from getting an infection.
