1. Get a workbook and make a10-20 copies of each page.
2. Practice one table per week with a timed test at the end of the week. Don't move on until she can do 100 problems in less than 5 minutes.
3. Flashcards
4. Use a deck of cards and play multiplication war
5. Play the game "circles and stars" by Marilyn Burns
6. Quiz her on the week's table in the car on the way to school-make it fun.
7. Reward her with stickers, healthy treat, or time with you for mastering the facts.

I am a teacher- and this worked when I taught the 4th grade as well as for our 11 year old son:
Have her write them 5 times each- I write the first one with the answer, and he wrote the multiplication fact out 5 times. He studied off of the sheet and then we used the flash cards to reinforce them. The next night, we did the next set. So, we did all the 2's together, then the 3's and so on. Each night, it was a new set unless he struggled with the set from the night before- and then we reviewed the set he did poorly on. We combined all the cards together as he learned them and reviewed that way.

There is a website on the web that has multiplication fact games for review. I have it on my computer at work. I would google multiplication games- and see what comes back. This is purely for review though once they know them.

Good luck!

Edit: those tricks are ok- but on a timed test which they receive, she is not going to have time to remember the trick, she needs to know the math fact and she needs to know it fast. 9 X 6=54!

Also, a child who knows their math facts has an easier time with division. That is coming next.

There are CDs for kids that have tons of multiplication songs on it! I still use them in everyday life (if I haven't memorized them yet). They have catchy tunes however they only go to 11 I've seen. But.. they don't start x12 until past 6th grade!

Flash cards
Practice 10 minutes every night.

PS: If you're 18 years old and you have a 9 year old daughter. . .you had your kid at 9 years old?!

There are tricks that make many of them easier to remember. Research tme adn teach them to her.
eg//9 tables.....the first is always one less than whatever you are multiplying ( 9 X 6 first number will be 5) The second will be whatever is needed to total 9 (5 + 4= 9). Hence the answer is 59. There are tricks liek these for many of the single digits and several doubles.

EDit** oops YES IT IS 54, i JUST MADE YET ANOTHER TYPO, BUT THAT SI WHAT MY METHOD SHOWED ANYHOW!

Teach your 9 yr old the multiplication tables 1 set at a time. For instance. start with the 7's you know like 7x1, 7x2 then after she memorizes the whole set of 7's, then reward her with something she really likes such as a nite at the movies. After she is rewarded move on to the 8's and then reward her again for memorizing all of them. Pick a time to go over the same set every day and then move on. I dont advocate grueling writing them down over and over and over. Writing them down once in large black marker and sticking it on the fridge or bedroom wall works wonders.
If you mix them all up, its too much for her to remember all at once. She will get satisfaction from memorizing 1 number set at a time and its more organized and easier for her to memorize.
I remember my mother doing 1 set at a time with me and after about a month, I had them all down.
Praise works wonders for children who do a really good job.
