Because you are getting a divorce. You went into your marriage thinking that this person is the one and it turns out they are not. It makes you wonder if there is even a ONE out there for you. That's why when you met this special person you were afarid. Because in your mind you think this is all a trick. That this person may seem special but he probably has some kid of flaw that it will end up ruining the relationship you have. It may be too soon to start looking for another person to be in your life. It's obvious that you have been hurt somehow if you are afraid to put yourself back out there to this special person. If this person is special to you, maybe you should talk to them. Explain to them your feelings, and let them know that how you are feeling has nothing to do with you not trusting or doubting them. Maybe you some time to heal and get yourself together.

You can't get a divorce without some feeling of failure or fear of getting hurt again. It is a lot to go through, even if you don't love each other anymore. Don't be too worried about getting hurt again, take things slow, get to know this person before jumping into another relationship. My personal experience was a lot like yours. And it took me 7 years of living with a man before I agreed to marry him, and things have been wonderful since, so much time wasted all because I didn't want to get hurt or fail at another marriage.

fear- the most powerful barricade. fear can restrain you in so many ways. it will hold you back, unless you let go. I say give this a chance. you could get hurt, she could change your life...you'll never know unless you take that risk. the greatest risk of all is choosing not to risk.
