i get bad allergies at times...i usally have to take sudafed and/or allegra, and i always have to use allergy eye drops. well my left eye is just driving me crazy...it's not red or doesn't itch today (except for this morning...here i always wake up red-eyed), but in the inner most corner, the part that's pinkish, it has been been a little bothersome. every now and then, if i strain my eye, it feels kinda sharp. i can't recall poking my eye but i'm wondering if a feather from my feather pillow poked it. regardless, what can i do about it? my sight is fine and it's not an ongoing pain, and the sharpness happens only sometimes when i intentionally strain my eyes. also, can't get to the doc right now...so any suggestions?? thanks in advance!

I have nearly the same thing. Do you wear contacts? You should make a eye doctor appointment. My eye doctor is open on Saturdays and can work you in, so yours may also.

Sometimes dry eyes cause the irritation along with your seasonal allergies. I have allergies too. I recently had a lot of pain in one eye that was not the usual same redness that comes and goes. They worked me in, and I had an eye infection and a scratch on my cornea.

Try re-wetting drops to keep them moist until you see a doctor. Sometimes taking a cool washcloth and placing them over my eyes makes them feel better too.

I am suffering terribly at the moment from my allergies. I wake up in the morning all crusty eyed and itchy and red. I did buy visine allergy and it has helped some. Between my nose and coughing and eyes I cannot wait for frost to come and kill whatever plant it is that is causing this but it always goes away after a couple good hard frosts. There is a homeopathic med that I used to buy for my youngest daughter on the recommendation of an opthamoligist but that has been more than 20 years ago & I can't remember the name of it but it worked very well for her. I can't stand taking the meds because they make me feel very bad so I just suffer though it, I know what you are talking about with the sharpness in the corner I get the same thing too occasionally but it usually goes away in a day or two. If you have a prior history of eye allergies then you more than likely have just that. I hope we both feel better soon Good Luck

I get that when I have a stye in my eye. It could also be a blocked tear duct. I'd use an eye solution to flush it out periodically until I could get to a doctor.
