Israel has been oppressing the Palestinians for too long now.
They obviously forgot their own oppression under the Nazis, Russians, Poles and others and that is a real shame.
The state of Israel was illegally established in 1947 and since then the Palestinians have been slaves in their own country and suffered the most brutal atrocities at the hands of the Jews. And even many Israelis recognize this.
I completely favour recognition of a LARGER Palestinian state, not only Gaza.

XMLTD will strengthen the glaring objection and those are issues which have for sure prevented the Gaza from going indie. in spite of the indisputable fact that the common sense would not put off. there can not be any reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas; it is merely actuality. The Gaza is the in easy words piece of historic Palestine no longer below direct occupation and they might want to snatch the danger to declare themselves the Palestinian State of Gaza. If and at the same time as the WB receives a democratic authorities they could continuously enter right into a union. similar is going for something else of Palestine.

I would fire off emails to every Senator and every major network and newspaper editor advocating immediate recognition and immediate humanitarian aid,as well as the introduction of U.N. ships to free their shoreline. What is happening there is a humanitarian disaster. All you have to do is check the BBC Online for objective daily reports. It's being almost completely blacked out by the U.S. media. They are desparately in need of the help and support of all freedom-loving people.

I think war is inevitable in all cultures. It has proven to be so since man first walked upright, grabbed a club and coveted property belonging to the caveman in the next cave over.
Men love war. They think it makes them powerful. They want what somebody else has. They don't like how someone else lives and goes to war to change it.
As more and more women come to national power around the world over the next several generations, you'll find that wars will become rare.
The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. It is a long struggle for women to demand and receive "equalitiy" and to fight the suppresion put upon them by the males who fear them.
We won't live to see it....but it will happen.
Women don't make war. They are too busy with the important things in life.

Well, I wouldn't want to answer a hypothetical, because we don't the details of it. In general, I think the "two-state solution" is probably the best we'll get. But that entire region demonstrates the problem of merging church and state.
If Israel-Palestine were a unified secular state, there would be no problem. The problems come from trying to have one Jewish state and one Islamic state.

The Palestinians have been living there a long time. Before WW II, the area was actually called "Palestine."

It is complex situation and defies simple minded solutions. The Palestinians deserve their own state for moral reasons, but realism says their vote for terrorist governments create a situation where they should never have a separate state. This world is too fragile a place to have international terrorists safe in any country. Its a shame to see innocent people suffer, but there would be more suffering if their terrorism was allowed to spread.
