I have thin, straight hair with no volume. I am in nursing so I am required to wear my hair pulled back. I really don't like my hairline as it is really high. I was wondering if I should get bangs swooped to the side, or if I should get my hair permed.

I recommend getting longish side bangs. They are more versatile & don't require much maintenance.

You'll have to work more w/ a perm to style it & a perm won't do much to disguise your hairline. The other thing is that you will be exposed to chemicals & you are breastfeeding.

Here are some easy ways to wear your hair up:

Make a ponytail more elegant by wrapping a section of hair around the elastic & securing it w/ a pin to conceal it. You can also section the ponytail and curl each section loosely to add more interest.

Get bangs, don't get a perm! With thin, straight hair, the perm might not even hold, or you'd end up with frizzies, not nice curls. And if you hate it, you'd have to either straighten it every day or just bear it until it grows out. With bangs, if you hate them, you can always clip them back or wear a headband. Good luck!

Get bangs swooped to the side. [: And you can do different things with your ponytail, like curl it. or braid a ponytail.
You can do both, it would be like awesome.

I wear my hair in 2 braids on the side, which might look nice on you. When needed, I pin the braids in a criss-cross on top and it looks very pulled-together.
