From about 10 upwards.
But even under 10's should do some chores. Like feeding pets, sorting out laundry etc.
They need to learn responsibility from a young age.

I personally think any kid more than, oh, 10 years old has the capability of doing the dishes. At the beginning a younger child may miss a few spots, but they should get the hang of it quickly enough. Even if it's a boy I'm sure he can keep his mind off videogames and girls long enough to do the dishes lol =P

Yes, boys should definitely do dishes. If they know how to clean properly, their bacholer pads won't look so bad! ;) But seriously, it's no different than having a girl do dishes. As far as age, I would say that six or seven is a good age for them if it's unloading or loading the dishwasher. If it's hand-dishes, probably eleven or twelve is good. Just make sure you check to make sure they got everything.

They (boys and girls) should have been doing the dishes a few years before they were teenagers. Make doing the dishes part of a cooking lesson -- that's a skill he'll never regret having.

I think 10 years old is old enough to start helping and 11 or 12 is old enough to do them on their own. And YES, boys should do dishes...they dirty them too. It's not a gender role....my brother did dishes all the time as a chore when he was 11.

You know, my mom was teaching me how to do dishes around the age of 6, it teaches discipline, she did the same with my younger sister and brother, my brother is now nine, he knows to clean what he dirties. Don't ever make cleaning a punishment, just part of a routine, but you have to make sure that everyone in the house is also helping out w/ shores as well. She taught us that dirt bring illnesses and that we don't like the way it feels to be sick, so we don't like things dirty. A teenage boy he can do dishes, the bathroom, his own laundry, but like I said, make sure all in the house are doing their part, or you'll be facing WW III.

Boys should be doing more than just the dishes. A teenage boy should be capable of doing any household chore. If you don't teach your son responsibility. He will be a liability.

It would be nice if a teenage boy helped his parents with the dishes. It's deffinitely appropriate for them to do so also. They probably make a lot of them dirty so they can definitely clean some of them up.
