I have a question, last year purchas a panasonic sa ht30 is a sourround system in a box, however the dvd player only throws 480p (i) being that is not an HDDVD player, but I jus purchase a HDDVD player that I would like to use with my current speakers but the cable that sends the sound to the speakers connets on my DVD player, the amp is built in the subwoofer, is there anything I can buy that will traslate the sound from the new HDDVD to my current speakers? i woul hate to buy new one

This is why you have to be careful about the HTIB's: Some of them dont allow any expansion. Others look like receiver/dvd player/speakers like they were off the shelf and these tend to stay useful longer.

Does the back of the Panasonic have a toslink optical or coaxial-digital input? (I cannot find a diagram). If so - you simply plug into one of these and plug the other end into your HDDVD player. Look for an optical port.
