The War of Words

Unfortunately, in this 'war of words' . . . those who control the semantics, in this case the illegal alien lobby, guarantees that the choice of words and phrases used will essentially control the debate. That is why the pro-illegals crowd will NEVER use the word "illegal" in conjunction with "immigrants," so that when they refer to our country as a "nation of immigrants," they are able to obfuscate and blur what should be a perfectly clear view of very contrary facts!

In a very subtle but complex way, the illegal alien lobby is getting most Americans to submissively place themselves on par with those illegal "immigrants" who are invading our 'nation of immigrants!' By controlling the dialogue the pro-crowd has taken the issue out of our control, and placed it in the hands of those countries who are exporting their citizens. It is a form of psychological warfare, using propaganda as a support for illegal aliens, primarily from Hispanic and Latino countries, who are demographically overwhelming our country. It is propaganda meant to disarm Americans so that we will not resist the "human tsunami" of some 23 million illegal aliens that have already invaded and balkanized America, and continue to arrive at a rate of 10,000 per day Unfortunately the pacification seems to be working, since most Americans, along with the media, have readily accepted the notion that 'we are a nation of immigrants' as being true and factual!

There are only two types of immigrant, legal and illegal. It is self explanatory, illegal immigrants should not be in the country in the first place they are breaking the law, end of. The majority do not like law breakers and that is where it stems from. What I am sick of is the question of immigration being reduced to that of racism. The issue is not about the colour of an individuals skin or which God they worship, we are hopefully above such prejudice in the 21c. Here in the UK we have seen a huge influx of immigrants, this has put enormous pressure on our social, educational and health services. These are the issues that concern and affect the indigenous population. That the majority of immigrants are European, white and Christian makes no difference, it is the sheer number of them and the short time in which it has occurred that has created problems. Many unskilled workers are being laid off in favour of immigrants who will work for less money. People who have been on the social housing register for a long time are being pushed further down the line in order to house them. Our already overcrowded schools are having to absorb their children with no extra funding as yet. Does being deeply concerned about this make me a racist? I do not blame people for seeking a better life for themselves and their families, we would do the same, but governments need to ensure that the numbers who enter are here legitimately and will not burden already overstretched resources. That surely is common sense not racism.

It's a term used to demonize those that are opposed to illegal immigration. Most people support immigration, as long as the immigrants go through proper steps. Trying to make somebody who's against illegal immigration look bad wouldn't work very well, so illegal immigrants are lumped in with legal immigrants, myself being an immigrant take great offense to that. Immigrants are the core of america and make the culture great.

That would be like saying that all people that have sex, are rapists..

I don't understand why it's so bad to call a spade a spade any more. Instead, we call them "undocumented workers", illegal IMMIGRANTS or other pc terms. Illegal equals criminal, plain and simple.

All the sob story excuses are just that, excuses. Legal immigrants had to go through a process to become citizens of the U.S. and contribute to American society while assimilating and learning the spoken language. The illegals DEMAND rights and social benefits as though they own the place and refuse to go back to their home countries, preffering to sponge off the backs of legal American citizens, all the while waving Mexican flags.

How f*****d up is that???? "Balls!" Said the queen, "If I had 'em, I'd be King!!"

It's the media, powered by the proponents of the Amnesty Bill, such as La Raza, Teddy "the swimmer" Kennedy, Mel "who should be deported" Martinez, Hillary "I'll say whatever you think I said" Clinton, and the rest of the do-nothing Congress, that use the word "immigrant" in the context related to the illegal alien dregs of society. They want to blurr the word immigrant so illegal criminals doesn't sound bad.

Take pills that function in as much the same way as caffeine but are not "caffeine" after researching some pharmacology books and maybe some chemistry. Legal pills by prescription. Otherwise, move to a pro-caffeine country.

I know many many legal immigrants that strive to make America a better place for all. For some reason, they can't stand illegal immigrants.

Legal immigrants must prove they can support themselves by not using government handout programs while illegal immigrants don't have to.

Maybe legal immigrants don't like the fact that legal immigrants are not allowed to use benefit programs (welfare, free health care, free dental care, food stamps, subsidized housing, etc) before becoming citizens. While amnesty would ignore illegal immigrants past usage of government programs.

Past usage of government programs proves illegal immigrants are incapable of supporting themselves and are a drain on society.

Because they are ignorant. Spell it out: There are LEGAL and ILLEGAL aliens. Legal aliens deserve respect and support for the efforts they do as contributers to the country. Illegals are breaking the law.

They don't want to use the word and think that if they don't , you might not know what they are talking about .
You see , if they don't use the word illegal , you won't think of them as illegal .
