How long does chocolate last? Usually to the car.
Will they last until January? Only if they're still at the store.
:) Ok, so to really answer your question, freeze them, preferably in a deep freeze instead of the little freezer that comes with your 'fridge, they'll last longer - maybe until January. Oh, and they'll look weird when you first take them out, but let them come to room temp and they'll be fine.
FYI, the only thing that will not spoil is honey. Chocolate can spoil, but you should be fine if you freeze the bags.

Good question. Your chocolates will definitely last until January. Most important is to maintain them at a constant temperature. Chocolate doesn't really spoil (from a microbiological standpoint) but the fat can recrystallize if the chocolate is subject to temperature shock. This results in chocolate bloom which is a white looking powder on the chocolate. Eventually chocolate will lose some flavor but they never really spoil. You do not need to freeze them but you can just thaw them slowly.

If it gets discolored throw it out for sure, but I'd say, two and a half months. Chocolate doesn't get old around here lol.
