My boyfriend has been sick for a couple weeks. His doctor told him this Wednesday that he could get out and do stuff finally...well can I still get it even though he isnt contagious? His doctor said no kissing just to be safe. But MY doctor said that I couldnt get it because my body is young and I can fight it off. Well my boyfriends only 16 and Im 15, so there isnt that much of an age different, but he still got sick...

Your doctor is giving you false information. I was 8 years old when I got mono - so if at 15 you're "young and can fight it off", by that logic, I should never have gotten it!

Definitely don't kiss your BF right now. Also, don't share drinking glasses or eating utensils. If you have done that in the past couple weeks - keep an eye out for the symptoms like he had - and if you feel crappy, see a doctor.

You can get mono at any age, and usually people have it for about 4 weeks before they even begin to show signs of it.

Check out this link on mono - it will give you all the info. you need

You can get it through kissing or from drinking after him. Refrain from doing either one until he is no longer contagious.
I don't know what your Dr was thinking by telling you that you could not get it.....

No kissing.
Do not touch food that he's touched.
Do not eat using utensils he's used.
Do not drink out of his glass, nor let him drink out of yours.
Do not share a toothbrush.

Wait until he is completely asymptomatic.

Yes I believe you can get it. Just try to avoid kissing him until he's completely shown no symptoms!
