I have a budget of £500 and want a good quality, branded 32" television that is HD ready and has built in Freeview.

After advice on which brands/models to go for and which are best avoided. Also any technical things I should look for or avoid (I WILL be playing games consoles on it!)

Also if you know any reputable retailers that offer good value...

I paid £585 for sony bravia 40in lcd from makro this week that included vat but i did have£100 off voucher,still good value even without the voucher i think

lcd our 32 hd ready is doing super from last xmas intergrated freeview is a bonus, i cant see you getting a plasma 4 that budget i was amazed what a difference in quality ours was from a stard nicam digital, i wouldn't spend any extra money plasma will come down in price soon enough if they want more buyers

for that money you could get a 37 " at makro that is a LCD
a plasma needs recharging at about 5 years at a cost of more than you paid for it 5 years before
