yes, many times, that is why i changed.
there were so many episodes in the churches that i grew up in.
a wealthy family, very active in the church, the husband has an affair with another lady in the church, and the wife feels the other woman should be thrown out of the church. (no forgiveness, someone who sins should be welcomed into the church)
episodes of racism back in the the 60's, sucking money from portions of the church for vanity projects.
i don't blame god or jesus, i blame the organized religions.
all good ideas can be distorted and perverted by poor followers, it just seems to happen more often then not!

By my denomination? Yes.
There are many, many ways the Roman Catholic Church isn't the perfect institution that I, JON M, in my infinite wisdom (wizdumb?) want it to be.
But I did my shopping around over the course of about 10 yrs, and even though there is a lot that is imperfect about the Church, as far as I can see, it has the fullness of truth above and beyond the other Christian denominations.
As for my religion, Christianity, in its teachings, no. Now have I been disappointed by the followers of Christianity, including myself? Oh hell yes.
But baby.... bath water... throw both out or keep the baby?

Yes. I applied an objective view of the Bible, and came up with so many holes in it...so many things that just didn't make sence. So I went out and found a religion that did make sence to me.

It has nothing to do with my choice of religion but the people who are serving in our church. It happens from time to time. When i find the preachings are more on political issues and the topic is very irrelevant, i simply stay home and read my Bible.

Yes, in more ways than a hundred and one. I opened my eyes to see the light and walked out the front door without looking back since.
Peace be with you.

I have been disappointed in people claiming to be Christians but not acting like a Christian. Christianity, in the purest sense of the word, will never let me down.

I've never been disappointed by Christianity. I have been disappointed by my denomination a time or two. But since I'm not God I can't ultimately say who was right.

Churches are made up of people, people fail, there is no "perfect" church, you just need to find one that puts love first, if love is flowing God is flowing.
