Diesel here in Texas is around $3.09 a gallon which, if my conversions are correct, comes to about .39pounds/liter. A bit cheaper than what your paying old chap.

Americans should think carefully before answering THIS question, meant for UK answerers - you actually pay 1/3 of what we pay per gallon, so you should thank your lucky stars!
I've seen diesel at £1.04, and I dare say it will get worse.
Just remember we pay 17.5% VAT on the duty - this government (and its predecessors since the dawn of VAT) are all thieving b@stards! The price could be dropped by 10p per litre if this tax-on-tax was withdrawn, but, you know what? This bunch of hypocritical *tnucs* would have to find millions elsewhere, so we still lose, because they've got to fund their numpty fringe groups and their hangers-on, and, all the while, WE are made to pay for this "service"!

I had to pay £1.03, but it was a penny cheaper 2 miles up the road, but I wasn't to know till I went past, what we should be asking is where is the cheapest diesel!!
It used to be the cheaper option, ho hum!

Well, I noticed yesterday, just close to Birmingham Airport, diesel is now £1.06 per litre!

Its getting worse my local Esso station now charging £1.08 thats up 10p in four weeks !!! Morrisons £1.01.

saw £1.06 on the A1 northbound yesterday.
Mind you - it's still 68p in Croatia - same as it was last year and the year before - makes you think doesn't it??
