I have a 2006 Caravan SE with 17,577 miles on it. I have had brake jobs twice in the past 30 days and may now need to replace the rotors due to the fact they are still squeeling. Other than that I havent had any other problems other than replacing a couple of light bulbs. Still I have owned 3 new vehicles before this one and never had brake issues before 36,000 miles. Im also concerned with the transmission issues the Caravan has had in recent years. Any positive or negative experiences are welcome.

It sounds to me like you may be a 2 foot driver one on the gas the other on the brake. 36K on a set of brakes isn't good. When you keep your foot on the brake they wear constantly. I've had 3 Caravans and liked them. The first 2 had transmission problems and A/C compressor problems. The only problem with the 3rd one was it suddenly lost power and the gas mileage went bad too. I now have a Toyota Sienna and can get 32MPG if I drive 55MPH, it's rated at 26MPG. I don't like the Sienna as well as the Caravan. My *** starts to ache within 30-40 minutes of driving and it isn't near as comfortable as the Caravan and I have a hard time keeping it going in a straight line. You have to steer it constantly and can't really relax like I did with the caravan. It also developed rattles and started making creaking noises after it got 9,000 miles on it. The dealer's comment was they all do that and they say the steering is OK too. I bought the Toyota because they are supposed to be the best. I don't think I'll buy another one.

I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan and ihave had about 3 brake jobs done on mine. The real kicker is the Engine Blew with 44000 miles on it last month. I have aways kept up with the recoemended ol changes and never ran this van hard.
The only good thing was i spent the extra money for the extended warrenty 7 year 70000 miles.
If i had just went with the standard 3 year 36000 mile warrenty i would have been screwed.
I'll never buy anythng without an extended warrenty because they just dont build them the way they used to.
