I don't have any suggestions on the shaving part because I never had to experience that. I know how frustrating acne can be though. I spent so much money on "treatments" and nothing worked. I finally gave up. I now use cheaper natural things and it seems to be under control. I use St. Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub for cleansing. When I get out of the shower, I use Witch Hazel as an astringent. Also, I use Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask 3 times a week. You can actually feel it drying up the pimples. Other than that, just drink your daily 8 glasses of water, and take a multi-vitamin to be sure that you are getting any possible supplements that might keep your skin clear. Use a scar cream like Mederma to help fade the scars. Some places like wal-mart even sell acne scar cream for a little more. Good luck.

I know, being a teen is rough sometimes! But you shouldn't give up! What I'm going to do it give you a bunch of recommendations. Now, these products and tips I'm going to give you are not pricey nor hard to keep up with so no worries. 1. Drink lots of water, and I mean lots! Water keeps skin hydrated and keep your skin clear. + also try drinking green tea ! 2. Exercise! Just trust me ;) 3. Don't eat or drink greasy/sugary things. At least keep it on the down low because those foods make your skin oily and break out easily and fast. Avoid pop, candy, fried foods and fast food. 5. Wash your face no more than 2 times a day. In the morning and before you go to bed. 6. Try wearing makeup no longer than 8 hours a day. 7. DON'T touch your face or pick on it. On your fingers and in your nails there are lots of germs and bacteria that may affect your face when touched. 8. When treating acne try more natural remedies at home. Don't go for the chemically filled products - they don't work well and dry out your skin. 9. Stress level must go down. Many people breakout because of stress. 10. Accept it and accept yourself! If you have a bit of acne, it wont be there forever and lots of people your age have it! You're not the only one ! Here are products that I use: I had some body breakouts and I used : BODY CLEAR® Body Wash Pink Grapefruit by Neutrogena and Neutrogena Body Clear Body Spray which worked really well. For my face I use : Clean and Clear advantage blackhead clearing astringent and tea tree skin clearing foaming cleanser which is from the Body Shop in Canada, so if you live in Canada your in luck if you want to get it. Otherwise, try getting something natural and/or oil-free. Exfoliating (you should do like 3 times a week) : Clean & Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub Mask (twice a week) : Honey and Oat 3-in-1 scrub mask from The Body Shop . Find a mask that will work for you ! All masks work pretty well. I like the one I used because it cleanses, polishes and moisturizes. For healing acne scars : I use vitamin E oil for it fades scars and promotes faster healing. *Hope this works for you! If it doesn't work the way you wished, consider visiting a dermatologist ! GOOD LUCK!

Try an electric razor with a guard on it so you keep a 5:00 shadow so you don't razor burn your face or cut the hairs so short you get ingrowns, wash your face at least twice a day with a wash cloth and a good soap, Clinique is great (I know it's girl soap but it's the best) Use a good toner, and when you do get a bad pimple don't pick at it, just use an antibacterial salve on it.
The dark spots should mostly go away with really good facial skin care.

Homemade acne treatment that consists of vinegar solution is the easiest of all home remedies for acne. This is what you will need:20oz of water
1 tablespoon of apple vinegar
Let it cool down and add one tablespoon of apple cedar vinegar. Dip cotton balls in it and apply every night before going to bed. You can keep this solution in a clean plastic bottle in a dry, dark spot.
Using this solution should help reduce the redness and diminish the acne problem
Tea tree oil acne treatment
Use pure tea tree oil. Dip in a cotton swab and gently dab on acne. Do this once or twice a day.
Tea tree oil is a strong antiseptic that cleans out the ongoing infection. It is gentle on the skin and leaves as little scarring as possible after the acne has healed.

Acne Skin Problem Lotion
This is a lotion, easily prepared.
Ingredients:
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
2 teaspoons of honey
7 oz of water
Mix the ingredients. If the mass is too thick, try adding a bit more water. Pour into previously prepared plastic bottle or jar. They have to be clean, so make sure they are washed well. Shake it. Keep in dry and dark place and apply few times a day. Wash off with water
shaving
Aloe Vera gel is natural and soothing. It is used for skin burns and any kind of skin irritation. Apply it after shaving in order to prevent irritation and redness.
Vinegar, apple cider vinegar specifically, is a great antiseptic and works well as a razor burn treatment. Working as an antiseptic, vinegar use is apparent when the bacteria and impurities are present on the skin.
Not only it prevents infection, irritation, and inflammation of the skin, it refreshes is creating a protective layer that stops them from affecting the skin.
However, to be absolutely sure you can use vinegar, I recommend you apply some on the inner side of your lower arm, below the elbow and leaving it on overnight.
If redness and itching occur, do not use any of the recipes that contain vinegar. If there are no signs of irritation, you may proceed.

I would recommend seeing a homeopath and switching to organic products. Your body is trying to get rid of toxins through your skin but cannot quite finish the process on its own (hence the constant recurrence). Make sure the homeopath you see is certified and legitimate. The one I went to is near Minneapolis, MN. There are also many natural ways including taking a zinc supplement and using tea tree oil products. I used proactive for a very long time. It worked fairly well but now after switching to all organic products and seeing a homeopath my face is much clearer and cannot tolerate the harsh chemicals in things like proactive. Hope this helps!

Drink LOTS of water--80oz a day
Change your diet, getting away from greasy foods and sugar. Eat more wholesome foods and fruits and veggies.
Try using an electric razor, just make sure you clean the blade often with alcohol on a cotton ball.
Also, switch to powdered milk mixed with water to form a paste as a daily cleanser. It's nourishing and full of vitamins and fats that is gentle for skin.

Try this simple remedy. Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne like soap. The secret of keeping the skin clear is to keep it oil-free and clean. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

I think with all these problems that you are facing ( pun intended..haha :]) you should probably go to the dermo or a specialist. They are probably the most likely to take you on the right path. Sometimes proactive makes things worse, or so I've heard, so ask them if you should really be using that stuff. Good luck.

Get some Vitamin A and/or tomato juice and swallow and/or drink some every day for about a couple of weeks.
As for the shaving, either try an electric shaver or grow a beard for a couple of weeks.

See a dermo. The brown spots are acne scars and will fade in about a YEAR. See if you can get something prescribed because it seems like your problem is kinda severe. good luck!
