We do not know exactly when the rapture will occur, but there will be signs of when it is near (read revelations). What you should do to prepare is love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all yourmind and with all your strength. Live for him and speak his word.

Digging the garden too vigorously might give you a rupture, but the rapture is an un-biblical fiction no older than the 19th century. Check those 'rapture' passages again and ask yourself who stays and who goes. Then consider the parable of the net (where he specifically says that the bad fish are thrown away first) and the parable of the weeds in the field, (where he specifically says that the weeds are removed before the harvest).
I suggest you unplug the TV and have a read....

It appears you feel the Rapture is a physical event, if so,why so?
God, the bible, Jesus and so on where Spiritual events and were taught in a symbolic form. I have noticed fundementalist Christians have a need to make the biblical events Physical and this is disturbingly in disregard for the biblical teachings.
Consider the "Rapture" a turning point in Spiritual awarness and not a "disappearence" of "Christians" per se as they are ascended to "heaven".

The most preposterous notion that H. sapiens has ever dreamed up is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of all the Universes, wants the saccharine adoration of His creatures, can be swayed by their prayers, and becomes petulant if He does not receive this flattery. Yet this absurd fantasy, without a shred of evidence to bolster it, pays all the expenses of the oldest, largest, and least productive industry in all history.

Make sure you have been forgiven for all your sins and have asked Jesus into your heart as your personal savior. Pray daily and live right.

I'm curious? When the 'Rapture' comes, if you're in the middle of taking care of a necessary bodily function will you be snatched up instantly with your underwear still around your ankles OR will your god allow you time to cleanse yourself first?
